Full colour fixtures offer many creative possibilities for cinematographers. These fixtures use many DMX channels, like the Astera NYX bulbs, so that one DMX universe is sometimes not enough for a single set.
The solution we offer is based on :
– One iPad with Blackout application
– One EXALUX CONNECT+ Full Wireless 2U kit, made of one CONNECT+ gateway and two CRMX LumenRadio transmitters
The iPad is connected to CONNECT+ gateway through Wi-Fi (5GHz band preferably, to minimize disturbances from 2.4GHz CRMX).
– The first TX100N transmitter is plugged on CONNECT+ DMX #A output,
– The second TX100N transmitter is plugged on CONNECT+ DMX #B output.
In order to optimize radio communications, it is advised to move away transmitters with DMX cords and use directional antennas.
Both transmitters are directly powered by PoD (+5V Power-over-DMX) feature, assuming 5-wires DMX connections.
Then in the CONNECT+ interface, SETTING -> DMX power screen, activate Power-over-DMX on both DMX outputs.
And in the HOME screen, assign universe 0 to DMX #A output, and assign universe 1 to DMX #B output.
Then just link the respective CRMX receivers to each transmitter according to the selected universe.
